The Nightdippers most recently transitioned from two variants of the H-60 “Seahawk” helicopter designated as HH-60H and SH-60F to a new and third variant designated as MH-60S. The HSC-5 “World Famous Nightdippers” are part of Carrier Air Wing SEVEN assigned to USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72). Currently, the Wing has personnel and/or aircraft assigned to Operation Noble Eagle and Operation Jump Start-and it regularly serves with the Air Expeditionary Force in Iraq and Afghanistan. As an Air National Guard unit, it is normally under the command of the Governor of the State of Wisconsin, but it has a federal role as well. If activated to federal service, the Wing is commanded by the United States Air Force Air Combat Command. Outstanding Airmen are trained, ready, and dedicated. To achieve that mission, the Wing’s vision is to be the Air Force’s premier fighter Wing. The mission of the 115th is to deliver dominant combat airpower and provide agile support for domestic operations. Wisconsin Air National Guardsmen will ensure that the Wing is trained and fully prepared for the arrival of a 5th Generation fighter. The Milwaukee Air & Water Show welcomes the 115th Fighter Wing as an official performer in 2022! This will be the LAST CHANCE for everyone to see the 115th Fighter Wing perform in the F-16 Fighting Falcon! The Wing will continue their transition from the F-16 to the F-35 Lightning II into 2023. Veteran pilots who have been instructors, evaluators or aircraft commanders are selected. Being a member of the demo team requires a high level of experience in the C-17, meeting training requirements and senior leadership approval. A C-17 demo team is made up of a four-person team. However, an air show demands that the demo team take its flying to the next level with precision and speed in putting on a proper demonstration for crowds, although the profile is not much different from an operational mission, it is very fast-paced. An air show profile is not much different from what C-17 pilots perform during real-world missions around the world. One is six minutes long, another is 10 minutes in length, and the third and most common is the 12- minute profile. The demo team flies three different profiles. When going to air shows, the team is the ambassador for the Air Force by interacting with air show fans and meeting community leaders. The USAF C-17 Globemaster III Demonstration Team’s main mission is to showcase the capabilities of the C-17 Globemaster III. The E-2C became operational in 1973 and surpassed one million flight hours in August 2004. Hawkeyes directed F-14 Tomcat fighters flying combat air patrol during carrier battle group joint strike missions. Since replacing the E-1 in 1964, the Hawkeye has been the “eyes of the fleet.” Since its combat debut during the Vietnam conflict, the E-2 has served the Navy around the world. The E-1’s successor, the E-2 Hawkeye, was the first carrier-based aircraft designed from the outset for the all-weather airborne early warning and command and control mission. An integral component of the Carrier Strike Group air wing, the E-2 uses computerized radar, Identification Friend or Foe and electronic surveillance sensors to provide early warning, threat analysis against potentially hostile air and surface targets. The Hawkeye provides all-weather airborne early warning, airborne battle management and command and control functions for the Carrier Strike Group and Joint Force Commander. The E-2 is a twin engine, five crewmember, high-wing turboprop aircraft with a 24-foot diameter radar rotodome attached to the upper fuselage. The E-2 Hawkeye is the Navy’s all-weather, carrier-based tactical battle management airborne early warning, command and control aircraft. All aircraft appearing and times are subject to change due to various reasons beyond our control, including but not limited to: military operational schedules, maintenance, weather, low ceilings, below-minimum visibility, or any other factor as determined by the promoter. However, some acts may not perform if weather conditions do not meet minimum safety standards or visibility requirements. Gates will open regardless of the weather. The Air and Water Show will go on rain or shine. Please visit this website often for updates. EXCEPT FOR THE NAVY BLUE ANGELS, who are confirmed, all other NAVY Aviation performances are subject to final Navco / Navy Week confirmation. We anticipate an enhanced participation from Navy Aviation aircraft. Join us for the 2023 Milwaukee Air & Water Show! Milwaukee has been selected as a 2023 Navy Week site, from July 19-23.
